Last October, these apparently went on sale. I feel foolish for having missed it, but things do happen. Two volumes have been released and while it's nice, they are not full seasons by any means. But $5.99 for seven episodes of Are You Afraid of the Dark? is nothing to scoff at.
Here is what the volumes contain:
- The Tale of the Laughing in the Dark
- The Tale of the Lonely Ghost
- The Tale of the Midnight Madness
- The Tale of the Midnight Ride
- The Tale of the Quicksilver
- The Tale of the Dream Girl
- The Tale of the Dead Man's Float
- The Tale of the Twisted Claw
- The Tale of the Nightly Neighbors
- The Tale of the Hatching
- The Tale of the Thirteenth Floor
- The Tale of Old Man Corcoran
- The Tale of the Dollmaker
- The Tale of the Night Shift
It's a little sad that these haven't hit DVD yet in the States. I have sent emails to Shout! Factory asking if they have rights to the show (Nickelodeon goes through them for their DVD releases), but received no word back. I plan to keep trying. I honestly wouldn't mind if they even just released 7 episodes at a time on their discs. As there are 91 episodes, there would be 13 discs! That's pretty nifty. I would ask, however, that they go in order of the series, as there is some continuity with The Midnight Society and certain reoccurring characters (Like Dr. Vink with a Va-Va-Va).
I will leave with with a question...
